Fernandes Benched as United Struggles Continue: Premier League Highlights
Premier League action kicks off at 2pm GMT, and there's plenty to keep an eye on today.
Manchester United lines up in a 4-2-3-1 formation with Lammens in goal, supported by Yoro, Maguire, Heaven, and Dalot Santos in defense. The midfield trio features Baleba, Amad, and Mount, while Mbeumo leads the attack. Notably absent is Bruno Fernandes, who has been dropped from the squad.
AFC Bournemouth also opts for a 4-2-3-1 setup, with Petrovic between the sticks. Smith, Hill, Silva, and Truffert form the backline, while Adams and Cook anchor the midfield. The attacking trio of Rayan, Kluivert, and Tavernier aim to support Evanislson up front.
Reports from Old Trafford reveal that Fernandes has been sidelined by Michael Carrick. Whether it's due to ongoing poor form or a recent incident remains unclear, but it’s disappointing to see things come to this for a player who has devoted so much to the club. While his comments after the Como match were questionable, there’s a history of frustration behind them.
In a humorous twist, one might say an egg disgruntled by its kitchen experience might as well hang out with Manchester United; after all, they don’t seem to beat anyone lately.
It’s been nearly two months since United last tasted league victory, a dismal win over promoted Ipswich, who now sit above them in the standings. Despite a Champions League win against Sabah, the start to this season has been shockingly poor, leading to speculation about yet another managerial dismissal, and this time, there’s little clarity on the next steps.
Just weeks ago, a home match against Bournemouth would have seemed like an easy win. However, the Cherries have turned their fortunes around, with three consecutive home victories and an impressive goal tally, arriving at Old Trafford with newfound confidence.
But that’s not all we’ll be watching today! At Anfield, Liverpool, fresh off three straight wins, take on Brighton, who are in an excellent position in the league. They know a spot in the top five is within reach, and given their recent form, they could be aiming even higher.
While our focus will be on these two crucial matches, we’ll also keep tabs on Hull taking on Brentford and Crystal Palace facing a struggling Newcastle side. Today promises to deliver plenty of thrilling football.
