Jermaine Pennant Suffers Major Injuries in Dog Attack
Jermaine Pennant, a name well-known in Premier League circles, is recovering after a frightening encounter with a dog. The 43-year-old footballer reported needing more than 50 stitches following an attack last week while walking his two dogs in north London. The incident involved a German Shepherd that clamped down on Pennant’s leg as he attempted to shield his own dog, King. In a moment of sheer bravery, King jumped in to help, turning the tide of what could have escalated into a truly horrific event. In an interview with The Sun, Pennant revealed that he suffered four bite wounds and required extensive hospital treatment for his injuries. Fortunately, King emerged relatively unscathed, although he did have a minor nip on his leg and was covered in blood that wasn’t his own. Pennant decided against reporting the incident to the authorities. Describing the encounter, Pennant recounted, "I was on the floor with the dog still attached, and King didn’t know what was happening until he intervened. He fought the dog off and saved me from a potentially terrible situation." A recent Instagram post captured the aftermath, showing Pennant with a bandaged leg and King by his side on the couch. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to his partner, Mimmi Montgomery, for their support during the ordeal. "My hero still protecting me and trying to look after me. King, you're a legend, love you, man's best friend. Thanks to Mimmi Montgomery for taking care of us both," he wrote, highlighting the bond between him and his loyal companion. Before retiring in 2018, Pennant made 231 appearances in the Premier League over a remarkable 19-year career, and he is currently a pundit for Talksport.
