West Ham Hits Reset Button, Scott Parker Set to Step In as Manager
West Ham United is making bold moves in their quest to return to the Premier League. After parting ways with Nuno Espírito Santo, the club is set to bring in Scott Parker as their new head coach. Parker, who has been without a job since leaving Burnley, could be in charge as early as their upcoming match against Cardiff City on Wednesday. The decision comes after West Ham's disappointing performance, sitting eighth in the Championship following a 3-1 loss to West Bromwich Albion. Nuno, who took the reins from Graham Potter in September 2025, struggled to implement his vision. Despite having 33 matches to turn things around, his tactics fell flat, team choices baffled fans, and new signings failed to make an impact. The club is determined to turn their fortunes around and secure automatic promotion back to the Premier League. With Parker being a former player, there's excitement about his potential return, especially with his old teammate Mark Noble expected to join his coaching staff. A statement from the club read, “Following a thorough review of the start to the EFL Championship season, the board believes a change is necessary to keep the club's objectives in sight.” In addition to Nuno, assistant head coach Rui Pedro Silva and goalkeeper coach Rui Barbosa have also left their positions. West Ham expressed gratitude for their efforts, wishing them well in their future endeavors.
